  • The Auditor is responsible for commissioner proceedings, agendas and records, accounting records, revenue and expense reports, voter registration, preparing budgets, and running elections (not school or city). 
  • Businesses apply for medical cannabis, beer, and liquor licenses with the Auditor. 
  • The Auditor also figures real estate and mobile home taxes and handles county bid lettings. 
  • In Butte County, the Auditor also acts as the County Welfare Official and manages medical indigent claims and liens. 
  • The Butte County Auditor also serves as the Human Resources Director for Butte County employees. 
  • The Auditor and Treasurer work in conjunction to pay county bills.
